Christmas Tree

Christmas Tree

Today was the day to get the Christmas Tree. I was excited, even with a sore head!
I went with my dad early to get the tree. We went to Stoke Goldington Christmas Tree Farm in Northampton. We have been for the past 2 years and always been impressed with the tree we get.
I love Christmas. It's such a happy time. Getting the tree means Christmas has finally arrived and preparations can begin.

At the farm, we went for the Norway Spruce Fir Tree - this tree doesn't lose as many needles which means less hoovering!

One of the men working there carried the tree over his shoulder to the main barn where it was packaged up in the net and paid for.

Once paid for, we carried it to the car, to do this we had to put all the seats down for it to fit. It fitted well.
While we were there, they were selling mistletoe, pinecones and handmade wreaths. We brought a wreath. This is to put on my Nannie's grave for Christmas time, so we took some time to choose the right one - which fitted with the Christmas theme but also suited her as a person.

Once home, we put the tree in the stand, took off the netting and let it drop it's branches as much as it will.

After some time decorating the tree with the lights and decorations. It was finished. My dad set the lights on the tree as he does a great job, compared to my mum and I.
My mum and I decorated the tree, making sure that the decorations were colour coded and fit the tree well. My mum likes to 'place' the decorations on the tree, however this year wasn't easy so we ended up 'hanging' most of them on the branches. They do always look nice 'placed' on the tree but they just kept falling off. We added Lindor Chocolates and Candy Canes at the end after this picture.
I love our tree <3
Did you enjoy decorating your tree? What does it look like? Do you have a real or fake tree?
