Review; Wild by Cheryl Strayed
Wild is the story of a woman who decides to pack up her life and hike the Pacific Crest Trail alone. She's not a seasoned hiker, but she is in search of herself and feels like this is the only way.
I recently read Wild by Cheryl Strayed because I had heard a film was coming out about it. I decided that it was best to read the book first. When I brought the book, I didn't know much about it. I brought it on the kindle, so didn't really read the blurb (which explains what the book is about).
I was hooked from the very beginning. Cheryl Strayed did a brilliant job to explain and write about what happened. It is based on a true story about herself, It's not something I would do but I wish I had the courage to do something good with my life, to make a difference.
I found it very inspirational. 10 out of 10! Would recommend ANYONE to read it.
Film; 4 out of 10! I found it difficult to understand and I had read the book. I watched it with my boyfriend and he didn't really understand it that great. It's not explained very well and a lot of information from the book is missing which I was gutted about. Before watching the film, I would advise reading the book.
What are your thoughts on the book? Have you got any recommendations on books to read or films to watch?
