Hand Luggage Essentials
I love to travel. When it comes to travelling, I am organised! Too organised for my own good sometimes.
Since we booked our holiday to America, I have been planning and organising what items I need. This is a different sort of holiday to what we normally do because for half of the holiday we are on a cruise. This is a new experience for most of us (apart from my Dad, who used to do them as a child.)
When travelling long distance, there is a few essentials for your hand luggage;
Cosy Socks; Because I am going to America, I am wearing flat dolly shoes, which means my feet will be out. On the plane, the air conditioning will be on constantly which means sometimes your feet get cold. I also feel then your feet won't smell either ;)
Sunglasses; These are important because I am going to a sunny country with lots of sun, however as I write this blog post, I realise, we will arrive at night time therefore these won't be necessary. I do NOT want them to break in the suitcase though!
Make Up Bag; Within this Ted Baker make up bag, I have a packet of tissues, plasters and then in a clear plastic bag, I have a travel deodrant, body spray, lip gloss and mascara. These are my on flight essentials. From following other blogs, I should take off my make up, however I just can't be bothered to reapply at the end of the flight. I also have a hair brush.
Headphones; I have two pairs of headphones, I have Beats which are big and go over the head. However I also have a small pair of in-ear headphones, they are useful when sunbathing or out and about.
Kindle & iPad & iPhone; These are my electrical items for the journey, they are my life savers! I have brought and downloaded quite a few books for the holiday as I love to read! My iPad has a couple of films for me to watch throughout the journey and holiday but also games to play. My iPhone isn't in the picture but will be an essential! I will carry this everywhere. I probably won't use it for calls or texts however it is there in emergencies e.g. lose my family members in a shop e.t.c.
Purse; It contains dollars ($), pounds (£) and my essential cards.
Portable Charger; This for emergencies! I will also carry an apple charger in case my phone or iPad runs out. I don't expect my kindle to run out in 15+ hours.
Travel Documents; This contains my passport, boarding passes, other important information about my holiday. Because my parents are going on this trip, they are still carrying a lot of my information e.g. hotel bookings. I like to carry some of the information as I am now 20, I think I can be trusted in carrying my own passport!
Sweets; I have fruit mentos and mint mentos. Mentos work well because when taking off and landing I like to have a hard sweet to stop my ears from popping.
Notebook & Pen; These are essentials on my trip. I carry lists for my holiday, I also have all the information about where we are staying and what we are doing. As I said my parents are coming so they have all the information but I like to be kept informed and know what's going on and when.
Things not included in this picture is my neck pillow which is definitely an essential for long haul flight. I have also got magazines and little puzzle books (sudoku and wordsearch) old before my time I know! but they come in handy when bored.
I also have a separate bag for my camera as I have lenses, filters, memory cards to carry!
What do you take as your hand luggage on a flight? Short or Long Haul? I would love to get some ideas as my bag is always so heavy!
